Adair County Sheriff Announces Pair of Arrests

KIRKSVILLE, Mo.- The Adair County Sheriff’s Department announced a pair of recent arrests.

On May 12, 2022, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ronald B. Petree of Kirksville for Possession of Methamphetamine, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Driver’s License Revoked and Under the Authority of an Adair County Warrant for Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway without a Valid Driver’s License. The arrests followed a traffic stop on Missouri 6 near Industrial Road in Kirksville in Adair County.

On May 26, 2022, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cody W. Elder of Novinger for two Class D Felony Counts of Receiving Stolen Property and placed on a 24-hour investigative hold. The arrest stemmed from an on-going investigation conducted by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 27, 2022, the Adair County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a Felony Warrant formally charging Elder with the two Felony charges. Elder is currently incarcerated at the Adair County Detention Center without bond. The arrest resulted in the recovery of stolen items which were returned to the owners.
