Baring Man and 4-Year Old Boy Injured In Semi Rollover Accident

BARING, Mo.- A Baring man and his 4-year old passenger received significant injuries in a semi-truck rollover accident. The wreck happened just before 11 o’clock Thursday morning four miles west of Baring. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a semi-truck driven by 19-year old Kelvin L. Burkholder was southbound on Route P when he ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The semi was totaled.
Burkholder was airlifted by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment of serious injuries. A 4-year old male passenger in the vehicle was taken by private auto to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville for treatment of moderate injuries. Neither individual was utilizing their safety device. The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Knox County Ambulance, Knox County Rescue Squad and the Baring Fire Department.
