Four Men Arrested in Connection with Pair of Hurdland Burglaries

EDINA, Mo.- Knox County Sheriff Allen Gudehus reports that his department responded to an attempted burglary on Tuesday.  The incident happened at Gene’s Small Engines east of Hurdland. 

While officers were investigating that report, another call was received reporting a theft in progress at a residence southwest of Hurdland.  Four suspects were located in the area and were taken into custody.  They were transported to the Knox County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Charges were filed yesterday (Wednesday) against Larry Walker of Kirksville and Nathan Helm of Brashear.  Walker is charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Receiving Stolen Property.  Helm is charged with Receiving Stolen Property, 2nd Degree Property Damage and Stealing.

Bond was set for each man at $10,000 cash only.  Charges remain pending on the other two suspects.
