Late Night Crash Proves Fatal for Memphis Man

A car vs deer incident late Thursday night proved fatal for a Memphis man. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 20-year old Jason R. Gingerich was driving northbound on Highway 15 about eight miles south of Memphis at 11:30 Thursday night when the accident occurred.
The Jeep Wrangler Gingerich was driving struck a deer in the roadway before travelling off the right side of the roadway. It went into the ditch before overturning and coming to rest in the roadway. Gingerich was partially ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene by acting Scotland County Coroner Erik Byrn. The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, Scotland County Ambulance and the Scotland County Rural Fire Department
