Memphis Man Life-Flighted After Falling from ATV

MEMPHIS, Mo.- A medical emergency led to a Memphis man receiving serious injuries while riding an ATV Wednesday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 56-year old Allen D. Garrett of Memphis was riding his 4-wheeler near the intersection of Madison Street and Adams Street just after 9:30 pm in Memphis when he suffered a medical emergency. That emergency caused Garrett to fall off the 4-wheeler and strike his head. He was not wearing a helmet.
Garrett was taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Hospital before being life flighted to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City for treatment of serious injuries. The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, Memphis Police Department, Memphis First Responders and Scotland County Ambulance Service.
