MEMPHIS, Mo.- A Memphis man is in stable condition after a shooting incident Saturday afternoon. Memphis Police Captain Bill Holland tells KMEM News that a call came in to dispatch just after 2 pm on Saturday to report that a man had shot himself at a residence located at 321 Jackson Street.
Units responded to the scene and upon arrival identified the man as 58-year old Richard Soltis of Memphis. Soltis was conscious and responsive and spoke with officers on the scene. He was transported to the Briggs-Smith Memorial Airport just west of Memphis where he was then taken by Air Evac helicopter to Columbia for treatment of his injuries.
Captain Holland reports that Soltis was under a restraining order at the time of the incident which did not allow him to be at the residence. The incident is currently under investigation.
