North Shelby FFA Wins National Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, In.- A local FFA chapter has brought home a national championship.  The North Shelby FFA Conduct of Chapter Meetings team traveled to Indianapolis last week to compete in the national finals.  The event was held in conjunction with the 94th National FFA Convention. 

Participants of the Conduct of Chapter Meetings Leadership Development Event are 7th, 8th, and 9th graders who conduct an orderly and efficient chapter meeting using parliamentary procedure.  Members also answer questions based upon their team presentation and complete a written exam. 

The team members were Andi Belt, Austin Wilson, Whitney Snow, Aliza Yoder, Marissa McEwen, Sadie Copenhaver and Fady Francis.  The team was coached by Mr. Harold Eckler. 

The members of the top four national winning teams each received cash awards to recognize their success in the event. The cash awards and the Conduct of Chapter Meetings event is sponsored by the National FFA Foundation and the National FFA Organization.
