Young Memphis Woman Named 2022 Missouri State Fair Queen

SEDALIA, Mo.- The 2022 Missouri State Fair got underway on Thursday in Sedalia.  One of the highlights of the first day of the fair is the crowning of the new State Fair Queen.  The queen contest kicked off at 8:30 Thursday morning with the speech and talent competition, followed at 1 pm by the evening gown competition.  

When the scores had been tabulated, a familiar face emerged as the winner.  Elsie Kigar, daughter of Jim and Alisa Kigar of rural Memphis, was crowned as your new 2022 Missouri State Fair Queen.  I had a chance to catch up with Elsie just a few hours after the coronation ceremony.

The 2022 Missouri State Fair continues through Sunday, August 21^st.
